KASPER ASGREEN'S PAIN CAVE
AS INSPIRATION
FOR YOUR HOME GYM

Get inspired by Kasper Asgreen's pain cave

As sponsor of the Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl cycling team, we go to great lengths to support our riders in their climb to the top. With a view to optimal indoor training, we therefore designed a stylish pain cave for Kasper Asgreen.

Turn you home gym into a trendy pain cave

The days of fitness torture equipment in the basement are long gone. More and more, pain caves are being set up as trendy design spaces that match the interior style of the home. Especially for top athletes who train intensively, the design of a home gym is very important as they spend many hours on indoor training. And Kasper Asgreen, if possible, spends even more time in his pain cave.

For example, he uses the space not only for indoor training in bad weather, but also to tinker with his bikes. Something he says he finds very relaxing. 'Thanks to Quick-Step's makeover, this might become my favorite room in the whole house,' he says. Do you also dream of a home gym? Scandinavian style

Before Quick-Step's designers started the makeover, Kasper Asgreen listed all his wishes and expectations. 'It is important that there is enough space to neatly organize my equipment so that I have everything immediately to hand before I leave for training in the morning. At the same time, it should also be cozy and homely because when I am tinkering with my bikes, friends and family often drop by,' he said.

This is why Quick-Step's design team opted for a design in line with the rest of the house. The result is a home gym with a Scandinavian look. The minimalism lends itself perfectly to a tightly organized storage space, while the dark grey tones give a powerful look to the pain cave that is also used as a home gym in bad weather. In turn, the combination with light wood and warm vinyl flooring creates a homely atmosphere.

The floor makes the (bike) room

Kasper Asgreen was immediately enthusiastic about the black slate tile floor from the Alpha Vinyl collection. 'The floor is perfect for intensive use, because I will not only train there but also work on my bikes,' he responds. 'I'm also very happy with the texture of the floor and the space now seems bigger than before.'

3 reasons why Alpha Vinyl is perfect for Kasper Asgreen’s (and your) home gym

  1. Vinyl tiles are scratch & impact resistant. The best proof of this is Kasper's cycling pain cave because his bikes are brought from indoors to outdoors every day. And even when training indoors on the rollers, the floor has to withstand a bump.

  2. The vinyl tiles are water-resistant and low-maintenance. For Kasper, this was very important because his bike is often full of sludge and mud after training.

  3. A pain cave only becomes a home gym when it is as cozy as the rest of the house. Floors from the Alpha Vinyl collection are not only easy-care and strong, but also soft and warm. Even if you opt for a natural stone look, a vinyl floor brings the perfect work-out floor into your home!
