Chevron flooring

Traditional meets modern in hardwood or laminate

Chevron flooring:
distinctively different

The chevron motif has a distinguished history, from Ancient Greek pottery and Roman roads to French palaces and heraldic designs - and still has a huge impact today. It looks stunning used as a floor in a modern home, adding vibrancy and striking interest. Whether you opt for a wood floor or a laminate floor, our chevron floors blend antique and modern to add bold originality to your interior.

What is chevron flooring?

Take simple square tiles and rectangular planks, arrange them in geometric shapes, and you can create an almost endless array of beautiful floor patterns. Chevron flooring, a pattern made by laying planks in a zig-zag, is one of the most popular types of floor patterns.

You can easily tell it’s chevron because the planks have had their ends cut at a 45-degree angle to fit together in a point at the top of each zigzag, resulting in strongly repeating ‘V’ shapes. Choose a chevron floor and you’ll create a look that’s minimal yet striking, reminiscent of traditional interiors yet also very on-trend.

What's the difference between chevron and herringbone flooring?

Chevron and herringbone are similar but different! Both are repeated geometric patterns, but they’re not quite the same.

Chevron flooring

Chevron pattern wood floor

A chevron floor is made of planks whose ends have been cut at a 45° angle, so when they’re fitted together you can see clear ‘V’ shapes.

Herringbone flooring

Herringbone pattern vinyl floor

A herringbone floor consists of rectangular planks laid side-to-end for a staggered zig-zag effect.
