We answer all your questions about combining Quick-Step Laminate with underfloor heating or cooling.
Bringing together laminate and underfloor heating provides ultimate comfort. Easy to install and a joy to walk on, you’ll be loving this combination for years to come.
All Quick-Step Laminate floors can be combined with low-temperature underfloor heating or cooling. The maximum allowed contact temperature is 27°C, both for classic hot water or electric heating elements and heating films which are installed onto the subfloor. Always keep in mind to check the installation instructions.
Does floor cooling follow the same principles as underfloor heating?
Yes! Except it uses cold water instead of hot water. That’s why you need an advanced control and security system to prevent internal condensation when using underfloor cooling, preventing your floor from water damage.
For floor cooling, a thermal resistance of less than or equal to 0.09 m²K/W is advised. This means that in some cases, a minimal capacity loss is unavoidable. The Silent Walk underlay is the most suitable underlay in combination with floor cooling.
When installing a laminate floor with underfloor heating, always make sure to install the floor ‘floating’. For the best results, we advise the combination of Quick-Step Laminate with a Silent Walk underlay. The general installation guidelines still apply, unless our specific guidelines for underfloor heating state differently. When in doubt, always check with your dealer.
