It’s all about timing
Water-resistant vinyl floors — like those in Quick-Step’s Livyn luxury vinyl collection — are treated to withstand water ingress to a certain extent. Basically, this means your floor can come into contact with water for hours or even days on end, without getting damaged.
However, frequency is key to determining how much is too much. If your vinyl floor is repeatedly exposed to excessive amounts of water — for instance, in an open shower — its joints and edges won’t be able to take it, possibly damaging your floor and underfloor.
Wet cleaning? Check!
It’s important that moisture doesn’t penetrate underneath the vinyl floorcovering. Does that mean you can’t clean it with water? Of course not! Just make sure your mop is not soaking wet. Slightly moist does the trick. Check out this article on floor maintenance for more practical tips about damp floor cleaning.
