New trends in imitation marble

Marble made its entry into our interiors two years ago (or perhaps its return), as an accessory, floor or wall covering or simply as a kitchen surface. There is only one problem: it is an expensive material. There was a striking amount of marble in Milan, at the very centre of the design world, this year. Quick-Step has come up with a nifty response to this new trend with laminate and vinyl floors in marble print.

Quick-Step has developed a laminate floor with a very realistic marble print. The “Marble Carrara” laminate and "Marble Carrara" vinyl gives the same sense of class and style as natural marble, but with the extra benefits of a laminate and vinyl floor. Unlike marble, laminate and vinyl can take rough use: it is scratch, spill and bump-proof and easy to maintain. What is more, laminate and vinyl are far quicker and easier to install, thanks to the Uniclic click system which makes laying your floor child’s play.

Carrara marble radiates calm and has a neutral colour, which means that it suits different types of interior. For a more timeless style, combine it with natural elements such as wooden beams or a cowhide or sheep skin on the sofa. Or use a marble floor in combination with black or white elements and sparing use of colour to create a contemporary, minimalist interior. If you still find marble a little too chilly and cool, combine it with copper. This is because copper, a trendy eye-catcher, adds a warm touch to a classic or modern interior. But less is more: one copper dish, one copper lamp or a couple of small copper objects: you don’t need any more than that.

Besides marble-look, Quick-Step has other laminate and vinyl floors with a natural stone design that will allow everyone to create their dream floor. With the beige laminate tiles “Tivoli Travertin”, a real tile sensation, you will bring the atmosphere of the Mediterranean into your home. If you prefer the look of luxury slate, go for the Exquisa collection of the Ambient collection. Laminate and vinyl floors bring natural stone to life in a realistic way, but they feel softer underfoot than natural stone itself.
