On Tuesday, November 5th, Turin will be the backdrop to a highly anticipated confrontation between the Galacticos (Real Madrid) and La Vecchia Signora (Juventus). The fixture, part of the 4th match day in this year’s UEFA Champions League football, will take place in the new Juventus Stadium. One of the stars of the evening – forget Christiano Ronaldo or Andrea Pirlo – will definitely be the 8,000 m² of Quick-Step Largo laminate in the lounges and restaurants of the stadium.
RIP Delle Alpi
In the nineties, Stadio Delle Alpi in Turin was the scene of several unforgettable moments in sporting history. With two Serie A titles and one Champions League crown, Juventus was definitely one of the super powers of the decade. In 2003, the team devised the plan to build a new stadium. The demolition of Delle Alpi started five years later, and on September 8th, 2011, the new Juventus Stadium finally opened its doors.
Quik-Step shares the glory
Architects Hernando Suarez and Gino Zavanella rose to the challenge of designing the new, 45,666 seat stadium. Together with the team management, they opted for a design that matches the grandeur and history of the football club. This also involved laying 8,000 m² of Quick-Step Largo laminate flooring in the stadium’s lounges, meeting rooms and restaurants.
Largo laminate flooring
A perfect fit for vast public venues, the wide planks of the aptly named Largo laminate series increase the feeling of space in the meeting rooms and hallways of Juventus Stadium. Treated with Scratch Guard advanced finish protection, the Largo laminate will easily withstand the trampling of thousands of visitors every week. Better still, mopping up dirt, or the traces of yet another victory celebration, is a doddle thanks to the maintenance-friendly surface.
